About
Southwold is an unspoiled seaside town of considerable charm, its colourful beach huts, working lighthouse, and elegant Victorian pier creating a quintessentially English scene. The town is famous for Adnams brewery, whose beers are served in traditional pubs scattered across the greens that break up the town following an 18th-century fire. The annual arts festival, independent shops and galleries, and excellent fish and chip shops add to Southwold's refined but unpretentious appeal. The surrounding Suffolk coast and heathland offer wonderful walking.
