About
Lynmouth and its hilltop twin Lynton are connected by a unique water-powered cliff railway built in 1890. The village sits where the East and West Lyn rivers meet the sea, surrounded by steep wooded valleys within Exmoor National Park. Beautiful coastal and woodland walks start from the village, while the area's dramatic beauty inspired the Romantic poets Shelley and Coleridge. The devastating 1952 flood is remembered in the Flood Memorial Hall.
