About
Beddgelert sits at the confluence of two rivers in the heart of Snowdonia, surrounded by some of Wales's highest mountains. The village is picture-postcard perfect with its stone bridge, ancient church, and traditional Welsh buildings. The sentimental story of Gelert, the faithful hound, draws visitors to the supposed grave by the river. Excellent walking routes radiate from the village, including paths up Snowdon, Moel Hebog, and through the dramatic Aberglaslyn Pass. The Welsh Highland Railway stops in the village, offering scenic journeys through spectacular mountain scenery.
